Primary Place of Work

The premises in Rhome, TX (Ft. Worth area) with travel to other A-Gas sites, customer, supplier or other sites as required.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the health, safety and welfare of staff through all operational activities including establishing safe methods and systems, ensuring staff are trained to the necessary levels and compliance with legal and quality requirements in order to minimize risk, prevent incidents and protect the business
Drive a culture of continuous improvement for quality, health and safety to achieve the level of on-going safety culture expected for a world class leading Chemicals Company.
Direct and manage the refrigerant cylinder filling, refrigerant distillation and processing team and production office team, ensuring production is efficient and transported in order to consistently deliver an excellent service and satisfy the needs and expectations of the business and customer.
Support the engineering team, ensuring that commercial requirements are planned, organized and delivered and that engineering facilities and capabilities are appropriate, in order to maintain A-Gas as a technical leader in the field.
Lead, manage and motivate the team ensuring that processes are followed for development and training, staff recruitment, disciplinary and grievance procedures and staff appraisals to secure a high level of performance and retain staff.
Contribute to the development and of the business strategy, business planning and execution to support the achievement of business goals and generate income.
Project management; Lead on and respond to the commercial needs of the business by developing operational activities ready for new product development.
Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts and manage costs, overheads and expenditure in line with these, identifying opportunities to reduce cost so as the business achieves or exceeds the budgeted profit.
Ensure good communication across the business, providing support to other departments with service improvements and consulting stakeholders on operations/engineering service improvements in order to ensuring both full functionality and continuous improvement of the business.
Represent and promote the business at external committees, boards, local regional and international events.
Strong commitment to safety and following safety procedures.

Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications

Bachelor Degree Required
At least 5 years' experience
Previous experience in operational/chemical processing environment desired
Substantial experience of successfully managing a multi-disciplined team
Background in Lean Manufacturing
Have a detailed understanding of relevant industry standards OSHA, DOT, CGA etc.
A sound understanding of regulated systems such as ISO 9000, 14000 and 18000
Significant Industrial safety experience
A sound understanding of and experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
An excellent understanding of the pressurised equipment directive and its requirements is desired
Understanding of chemical processing technique such as fractional distillation preferred
Experience of dealing with regulatory bodies such as the US EPA, OSHA and DOT
Experience of handling and setting of budgets and financial performance parameters
Waste management training
Toyota Production System experience and experience of working within the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning industry preferred
